ANNOUNCEMENT CONTRACT | Rehabilitation of La Grande-Rivière Airport | Radisson

Beluga Construction is undertaking an ambitious rehabilitation project at the Grande Rivière airport, aimed at modernizing and securing this essential infrastructure. The project includes the installation of two PAPIs (Precision Approach Path Indicators), vital systems for guiding pilots during landings.

A total of 25.5 km of cable will be laid to modernize the airport's electrical system, ensuring a reliable and continuous power supply. In addition, 128 new runway lights will be installed to improve visibility and safety for flight operations, particularly during low-visibility conditions. The works also involve the creation of 6,000 metres of trenches to bury cables and other necessary infrastructure. In addition, blasting operations totalling 6,700 m³ will prepare the ground for the new installations. Finally, 16,300 m³ of excavated material will be removed and moved to lay the new structures.

Thanks to these improvements, Grande Rivière airport will be better equipped to meet the growing needs of air traffic, while complying with the strictest safety standards.
