The channel construction work at PIT Webb is intended to ensure proper surface water management and to prepare the site for subsequent development and mining phases.

The work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Layout, delineation, and securing of the work area in accordance with plans and the planned work sequence.

  • Excavation of the channel following the specified alignments, dimensions, and slopes to ensure efficient water flow.

  • Removal of in-place materials, including organic soil, overburden, and non-compliant materials.

  • Loading and hauling of excavated materials to approved disposal or waste areas.

  • Shaping, regrading, and leveling of the channel bottom and side slopes to ensure stability and hydraulic performance.

  • Development of slopes, access routes, and related drainage features to prevent erosion and water accumulation.

  • Compaction and stabilization of surfaces, where required, to meet operational and safety requirements.

  • Execution of the work in compliance with health and safety standards, environmental requirements, and applicable procedures.

These works enable effective preparation of PIT Webb by controlling water flow and ensuring safe and operational conditions for the next phases of the project.
